Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing how businesses operate today. In Human Resource Management (HRM), AI is becoming key for tasks like recruitment, employee onboarding, learning and development, performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement. By automating repetitive tasks and using data for decisions, AI has turned HR from a mainly administrative role into a strategic partner. Still, challenges remain, such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, ethical decision-making, workforce adaptation, and employee acceptance.

This paper looks at how AI integrates into Human Resource Management. It reviews applications, opportunities, challenges, and future directions. The study uses secondary data from peer-reviewed journals, books, industry reports, and professional publications. It shows how AI boosts HR effectiveness through automation, predictive analytics, and personalised employee experiences while stressing the need for responsible governance and human oversight.

The study finds that AI can greatly enhance organisational efficiency, talent management, and employee development. However, its success relies on ethical use, transparent decision-making, ongoing employee training, and strong collaboration between human skills and intelligent technologies. The paper also points out new research areas and offers practical recommendations for organisations looking to adopt AI in HR responsibly.
